| Montana Pitch-Blend Products are created for use on all types of rugged leather goods, including all kinds of tanned hides and skins (cow, deer, elk, pig, alligator, crocodile, ostrich, and so on). And our natural products can be used on leather created from all differing tanning processes (vegetable, mineral, oil, etc.) The key is in knowing that the leather/skin is of a standard or thick texture which will best absorb and utilize rich oils.
The only form of leather our products are not recommended for are "fine" or very lightweight leathers, such as lambskin or textures like suede or nubuck. The reason for this is simply that oil-based products, like ours, are very rich, and therefore would appear too dark on very light skins, or would "lay down" the nap of suede and rough-out textures. For our customers who don't mind the change in these aspects, our oil is often chosen for it's rich properties and natural water-repellency. But we always advise you to consider these facts before you procede if you are indeed the owner of fine or light or textured leathers.

When it comes to rugged leathers, which includes most standard or thick-skinned leather goods, our oil-blend formulas are ideal because they condition and protect so much better than water or lanolin-based products. "Nothing's better for rugged leather!"
